Όπως άλλωστε συμπληρώνει και ο μεγιστάνας του Las Vegas, Steve Wynn: "The only way to win in a casino, is to own one."(Ο μόνος τρόπος να κερδίσεις σε καζίνο είναι να’ σαι ο ιδιοκτήτης του).

Dimitrios Antonitsis, curator of the Hydra School Projects, being fascinated by the gaming industry as a metaphor of everyday decision making, invites nine artists to commend on chance, divination, luck and loss. Quoting Las Vegas casino magnate, Steve Wynn: "The only way to win in a casino, is to own one."

The artists participating are:
Assume Vivid Astro Focus
Adding to the colorfully muraled exterior of the Leonidou street balcony, AVAF will present their latest neon works produced by Editions Fawbush. Explosive messages like "Asymmetrical Voluminous Ass Fuckers" and "Adore Voluptuous Actress Forever" will fill the gallery with their magic.

Scott Campbell
Brooklyn-based tattooist Scott Campbell has taken the art form to another level‹not just by being one of the most sought-after tattoo artists in NY. For Bloodsport Campbell laser tattooes stacks of dollar bills with his signature designs. Money to burn...

Jessica Craig-Martin
Jessica Craig-Martin became famous for her photographs of high society, capturing awkward and often not-so-glamorous exchanges between the beau monde. Identities of the rich and famous were usually obscured, cropped to show only a garish detail, a midsection, or a hand reaching for a tray of hors d'oeuvres. In Bloodsport Jessica presents her latest photos; caustic stills form the Cannes and Monte Carlo milieu.

Dreadnought
The conceptual label Dreadnought will be launching its first within gallery boutique featuring neo-punk tee's, furniture and prints. The poets behind it are Noel Henessy and Michael Bevilacqua.

Zoe Keramea
Zoe creates a mental board game titled "Twisted", where the six faces of a giant wooden cube are splayed upon the floor connecting two rooms. Painted on the boards are looping and twisting ribbons that lead the player from one room to the next. A set of rules and an over scale dice, suggest the viewer place himself into the game; which takes luck to enter and considerably more luck to exit. The distinction between player and game is erased.

Irini Miga
Irini Miga¹s drawings and sparkling clay sculptures weave a web of intricate narratives, which stem from her personal myths, yet relate to a wider contemporary culture. Irini Miga¹s work embraces sentimentality, transforming realistic subjects into hyper-surrealistic hybrids, and offering a dreamy reality which interacts with that of the viewer. Her works invite a closer inspection. Delicate ribbons and fragile jewels which bridge the narratives, enhance the preciousness of dreaminess.

Michael Portnoy
Michael Portnoy is an American multimedia artist, choreographer, musician and actor. He calls himself a "Director of Behavior". Portnoy expanded his practice to include choreography, video, installation, sculpture and relational works, which he describes as "strangergames". Portnoy's long-standing investigation of social exchange, and the rules of communication and play, is currently conducted through a series of 'abstract gambling' tables and related sculptures, drawing on gambling's roots in ritual and divination.

Kon Trubkovich
Kon Trubkovich makes videos and uses them as a means of departure, selecting from his own imagery as the basis for his painting, works on paper, photography, and sculpture. For this exhibition the artist present a video and drawings based on "Double Negative", Michael Heizer's first prominent earthwork. (Double Negative consists of two trenches cut into the eastern edge of the Mormon Mesa, northwest of Overton, Nevada in 1969-70.

Jonathan Velardi
Jonathan Velardi is a graduate artist from The Slade School of Fine Art, London. He will present a series of videos titled "Fortune Teller". Velardi instead of predicting the future through mystical or supernatural means, compiles a visual vocabulary of wealth as portrayed in mtv video clips. Velardi acts like human radio, tuning in to the karmic wavelengths of our culture to divine our dreams and desires.
