H ζωγραφική είναι η αφετηρία για όλα τα έργα του Nicolas Party. Η επικάλυψη διαφόρων επιφανειών –χαρτιού, μουσαμά, τοίχων και αντικειμένων –με χρώμα τού επιτρέπει να παραγάγει ένα φάσμα έργων που κυμαίνεται από πίνακες μέχρι site-specific installations. Κατ’ ουσίαν, αποδίδοντας νεκρές φύσεις και τοπία, ο Party χρησιμοποιεί ένα κανονικό ιδίωμα παραστατικών στοιχείων –δοχεία, τρόφιμα, βουνά και δέντρα –ερμηνεύοντάς το μέσα από κύβους, κυλίνδρους κύβων, κυλίνδρων, κώνων, σφαιρών και πυραμίδων. Χρησιμοποιώντας αυτό το συγκροτημένο μορφολογικό λεξιλόγιο, δημιουργεί μια ιεραρχία διακοσμητικών σχεδίων, που καταλήγει σε πίνακες σαν ζωφόρους, ταυτόχρονα παραστατικούς και φανταστικούς. Αυτά τα έργα υποβάλλουν διαρκώς ερωτήματα πάνω στη γλώσσα των μορφών, θεμελιώδες ζήτημα της τέχνης του.
Για το ReMap 3, ο Nicolas Party θα δημιουργήσει μια site-specific installation, με τοιχογραφίες που καλύπτουν το κτίριο που καταλαμβάνει. Λαμβάνοντας υπ’ όψη την ξεφλουδισμένη μπογιά των τοίχων, θα δημιουργήσει ένα show που θα ασχολείται με την εφήμερη πλευρά ενός έργου τέχνης και με την ιδέα της νοσταλγίας. Οι επιπτώσεις του χρόνου στον χώρο θα χρησιμοποιηθούν ως αφηγηση και μεταφορική αφετηρία της έκθεσης.
