Acrobat Reading is an exhibition project focusing on the way that the spectator has to adjust his perceptive tools in order to look at works of art. An acrobatic performed on a tight rope pulled by the artists. An endless swing between representational and non-representational attitudes, abstraction and pseudo-realistic approaches, image and matter.
Acrobat reading is developed around painting, the most established of the artistic genres. But instead of an analysis of painting itself, it is attempting to write a chronicle of the denial of the traditional characteristics of such an artistic expression. The participating artists have been selected according to their work’s coherence with the project leaving age, sex and nationality to be regarded as irrelevant for the exhibition interpretation.
